Creed II is the eighth addition to the Rocky franchise and the second focusing on this generation of boxing champions. Michael B. Jordan stars as Adonis ‘Donnie Johnson’ Creed who, under the guidance of veteran Rocky Balboa (played by Sylvester Stallone), must fight to defend his legacy against the son of the man who killed his father.

Despite being the newly crowned champion, Creed struggles to balance his family commitments with his professional training. But there’s always more at stake than just the fight, especially when there’s bad blood between you and your opponent.

Marvel’s Tessa Thompson’s is to reprise her role as Bianca, Donnie’s girlfriend and singer-songwriter, and Dolph Lundgren is returning as Ivan Drago. Earlier this year Florian Munteanu, Romanian boxer and kickboxer, was reported to have joined the cast as Drago’s son, Viktor.

The Rocky franchise consistently delivers between $100-300m in the box office but Creed’s Thanksgiving release meant the 2015 movie ended up on the lower end of that range. Perhaps its Ryan Coogler/Michael B. Jordan combo will bring the sequel some Black Panther level hype! Creed II is released 21st and 30th November 2018 in the US and UK respectively.
